It has been almost 25 years since I traveled with two other members of the magazine staff for a New York City themed issue in fall 1997.
Perhaps it was the fact that we had a primarily virtual Homecoming in 2020 due to the pandemic, and it really did feel good to be back together.
It is that strong Harding connection and genuine Southern hospitality that makes the visit to Shake Shack worth the drive.
Both Bruce McLarty and I graduated from Harding in the class of 1978, but it only took him three years to accomplish what took me four.
