2019 student accomplishments

College of Allied Health Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

Carley Hill presented a poster titled “Examining Concepts of Ethical Dilemmas in Interprofessional Health Student Teams” at the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association convention in Boston in November 2018. This presentation represents the result of her work as a McNair Scholar under the mentorship of Melanie Meeker .

Carr College of Nursing

Five 2018 BSN graduates were hired at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Several graduates remained in the state to work at hospitals and clinics in Little Rock, Searcy and Fayetteville.

The Harding Nursing Student Association won two scholarship awards for the Fill the Trunk project on behalf of the International Christian Hospital Foundation.

Hannah Johnson was awarded the Arkansas Nursing Student Association Student of the Year.

Three undergraduate students were elected to the ANSA board: Elisha Holst , secretary; Jennifer Fausett , Break Through to Nursing; and Caroline Burch , marketing.

College of Pharmacy

Taryn Eubank and Meghan Thompson won the Harding University College of Pharmacy clinical skills competition. They will be competing in the national competition in California during the ASHP Midyear meeting.

P3 Kelsey Martin won first prize in the student poster competition at the Arkansas Association of Health-System Pharmacists.

P4 Josh Park won second place in the student poster competition at the AAHP Fall Seminar. He was also awarded AAHP Student Pharmacist of the Year.

The HUCOP student team (P4s Barrett Carter , Kadyn McLean , Charlie Wright and P3 Jessica Carter ) won the annual student “Jeopardy” competition at the AAHP Fall Seminar.

Twelve faculty and 13 students authored or collaborated on 14 posters and six invited presentations offered at various local, state and national professional meetings.
